The long waited dream has come true!! The 6th SOS children’s Village, in Jaffna has fulfilled the need for many more children. Situated in 2.5 acres, just 4.5 km from Jaffna at Nallur’s Nayanmarkatta, the new Village has 12 family houses that is a loving home to the 72 children.

We all remember days when our dads would carry us out on their shoulders for an ice-cream, when we fought with our brothers and sisters over something, or when our mothers would be awake all night for us when we were sick.


SOS Temporary Care Shelter in Chetticulum

Since the end of the civil war in May 2009, SOS Children’s Villages has been caring for unaccompanied children in a camp for internally displaced persons near Vavuniya. As parts of the camp were being closed by the authorities, children still in the care of SOS Children’s Villages were moved to Jaffna in the first week of December 2010.
